Digital Television
The change from analog to digital television (DTV) technology is very interesting because almost all electronic devices, such as digital cameras, video recorders, music devices, and computers, can be integrated with high-definition TVs (HDTV). According to Grant and Meadows, 2010, “The advantage of digital television is that it combines higher-resolution image quality with improved multi-channel audio.” Consumers should be interested in digital television because the United States, as well as the rest of the global world, has converted or is in the process of permanently converting to DTV technologies. Consumers are constantly looking for better quality and the latest technology in video and audio products.

I feel that the television is very important and will always be a staple in every americans home. Not everyone can afford a computer or cable but everyone does have basic television. Television has come a long way and has improved a lot. I feel that digital television has been increasing by the year because it is such a great product. Eventually it will be the norm in every household.

One cool feature that has came out of digital television. Is the idea that a TV can be a multimedia device in its-self. The more time that passes the more I see TV’s that include widgets, apps, wifi all built into it. Before the notion of digital TV’s came along a TV was used just for receiving broadcasts. We had to attach an extra device to getting any type of additional service. TV’s now a day have an input for any device and built in wifi.

I believe that we should have switched over to digital a long time ago and have to say that it was the best switch. I have had digital TV before they forced the switch and have loved it ever since. It is the only way to watch TV and with technology these days you need to have digital to connect with other accessories like a HD camcorder.

I agree with you that consumers are always looking for for better quality, more channels, and better technology when it comes to TV and video games. This technology is constantly evolving and impacting our daily lives.
